About Us

Successful hosts of a popular pub, restaurant and music venue in England, Karen & Andy Hoy had already discovered the unique charm of the Hautes-Pyrenees when they decided to move to France in 2007. After months of searching, they found “Le Turounet” – a spacious, contemporary house set in large gardens, with wonderful views up the valley to the peaks of The Pyrenees. It is ideally placed for the numerous activities and spectacular sights that this region has to offer.

Whether you want to relax and enjoy the scenery, explore this beautiful region, indulge in your favourite pastimes or really get the adrenalin flowing with exciting new activities, we believe that we have found the perfect answer…….

Enjoying the privacy of enclosed grounds of one and a half acres, “Le Turounetis only a couple of minutes from the main road that links the town of Lannemezan to the resort of St Lary Soulan.

It might be difficult to make a choice between relaxing by the swimming pool on a summer’s day, with eagles soaring overhead, or heading up to the mountains to enjoy the host of experiences that they have to offer.

There is much to discover and many activities to enjoy, from parapenting to canyoning and climbing to white water rafting. Any of these can be arranged to suit your personal requirements, depending on how adventurous you feel!

The area offers plenty of skiing, snowboarding and cross-country trails in the winter, with a hot meal and welcoming log fire to return to in the evening.

Walking or cycling is also a popular and very rewarding way to spend a day in the mountains and there are many trails to chose from.

Walking in the Mountains

The region boasts a number of excellent golf courses, making it an ideal destination for a short spring or autumn break – and of course the scenery is pretty amazing!

Guests can arrive by car (we have parking for up to 8 vehicles), by train, or by air, with Pau being the principal airport. New arrivals can be collected from the local rail station in Lannemezan, the TGV station at Tarbes or from one of the three local airports (for a small supplement) by prior arrangement, in the minibus.

The minibus will be available each day during your stay, if required, to transport you to and from your chosen activities (where specified). Guests with their own transport are free to come and go as they chose.
